Laboratory Profile

       The State Key Laboratory of Ocean Engineering (SKLOE) at Shanghai Jiao Tong University was established in 1985, and accredited by the state in 1992.In 2023, the laboratory was completed reorganization in 2023.The research of  laboratory focuses on the design and performance of ship and ocean engineering structure, such as extreme offshore environment, underwater technology, design technology for ship, software of marine structure, and green intelligent ships.

       The SKLOE serves as a leading scientific and engineering research platform mainly composed deepwater offshore basin, ocean engineering basin, ship model towing tank, cavitation tunnel, structural mechanics laboratory, ship maneuverability laboratory, underwater engineering basin, etc.  The laboratory has great influence in the international marine engineering community and gain high academic reputation. The Journal of Ocean Engineering and Science established by laboratory becomes the world-renowned journal.
